A gas tank at your home or in the garden?

Have you ever thought about renting your own gas tank at your home in the garden? If so, there are a number of things to consider. After all, what about laws and regulations? Do you need different permits? And what about the costs the maintenance and installation of the gas tank. We are happy to explain it to you.

Do I need a permit to place a gas tank at my house or in the yard?

It is generally permit-free to install one or two gas tanks of less than 13,000 liters. However, it is mandatory to register the tank. This must be done at least 4 weeks prior to placement and can be done through www.aimonline.nl If you have any questions about this we can support you.

What safety precautions should I take?

It is important to observe safety precautions when placing a gas tank on your property. For example, the gas tank must be placed in a safe location. During the discussion, our account manager will map out the possibilities and decide with you where the tank will be placed. We then place the tank in the agreed location. Then the gas line must be laid to/in the house. OK GAS can arrange this for you but you can also have your own certified installer make the connection.

After the system has been inspected, the propane system can be put into operation.

What will it cost to install a gas tank at my house?

The cost of installing a gas tank on your property depends on several factors. For example, you can opt for underground or above-ground placement and different sizes are possible. Placing a standard gas tank including installation of the gas line can start from around €900. Our installations often involve customization. That is why we are happy to make a customized offer together with you and try to deliver at the best rates.

How often should I perform maintenance on my gas tank?

The maintenance of a gas tank is important to ensure that the tank remains in good condition and continues to operate safely. Thus, a gas tank must be maintained according to the NPR2578 guidelines. OK GAS, as propane gas supplier and owner of the tank, is obliged to perform this maintenance through visual inspections and periodic tank changes. We always make an appointment for this in advance so you will not be unpleasantly surprised.

Can my gas tank also become empty?

Yes, you can. However OK GAS minimizes this risk for you by using telemetry. This is a technology used to measure and transmit data remotely. In the case of a gas tank, telemetry can be used to measure and monitor the levels of the gas tank so that OK GAS is aware of the amount of gas remaining in the tank and timely refills.
